ideal forfamilies who actually want to rest: a more residential, quieter resort with a great lazy river and large homes — without the buzz of the famous resorts.
Solterra is for families who want vacation at a country-house pace: tree-lined streets, a residential feel, and a lovely clubhouse with a zero-entry pool, lazy river, water slide and cabanas. Homes range from 4 to 14 bedrooms — some of the largest in our lineup — all with private pools. The trade-off is simple: you're about 20 minutes from Disney (35 from Universal), and in exchange you get a resort where you can read a book on a lounger without someone else's playlist next door. For families with babies and grandparents, it's one of our favorites.

The honest take: pros and cons
👍 Strengths

✓A great lazy river that's nearly empty in the mornings

⚠️ Things to know
!Disney is ~20 minutes and Universal ~35 — you pay for the calm with a few extra minutes of driving
!On peak holidays the main pool fills up too (it's smaller than the mega-resorts')
!Some phases of the community still have active residential construction
!Nightlife and restaurants require a car — the surroundings are residential
💡
Insider tip: the lazy river before 11am is practically private. For dinner without a long drive, Posner Park (10 min) has solid options — and sunset on the resort trails is gorgeous.
